Mohanlal plays a businessman Jaya Mohan in Joshy’s new film Laila O Laila, an action-filled entertainer with Amala Paul as heroine. This is the second film from the Joshiy-Mohanlal-Amala trio after the success of Run Babby Run. Renowned Bollywood scriptwriter Suresh Nair of Kahaanifame debuts in Malayalam with this film.

The film is produced by Santhosh Kottayi, Bijou Antony and Preeta Nair under the banner Finecut Entertainments. The soundtrack and background score have been composed by Gopi Sunder. The film is scheduled for a May 8 release.

Supporting cast include Sathyaraj, Joy Mathew, Sreerag Nambiar, Rahul Dev and Kainaat Arora. Bollywood scriptwriter Suresh Nair debuts in Malayalam with the film. The film introduces the state’s first equity crowdfunding model of film production, being produced by Santhosh Kottayi, Bijou Antony and Preeta Nair under the banner Finecut Entertainments Pvt Ltd in association with Aashirvad Cinemas. The soundtrack and background score were composed by Gopi Sunder.

The principal photography began at the end of August 2014. First schedule was in Kochi, Goa and Mysore. The second schedule went off in Bangalore. And final schedule underway at Kochi, Bangalore and Bellary.

The film was originally scheduled for 110 days shoot and completed within a span of 7 months in 3 schedules.
