Retail Architect/Engineer - Sephora

Job description

MISSION:

Reporting to the Store Operations Manager, the Retail Architect manages the full process of construction from final design stage to completion of the project. The assignment includes coordination of project teams and subcontractors, thus supervising all architectural, civil, mechanical, plumbing, infrastructure, electrical and IT-Telecommunication works. The objective is to achieve construction completion according to approved budget, schedule, quality and safety requirements.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supervising the construction process:

- Ensure design team provides full set of drawings and specification for the development of BOQ, Construction program and final costing (tender package)

- Participate in process of tendering, selection and appointment of contractors and payment terms

- Monitor site building progress through regular site visits and liaise with project teams and contractors

- Ensure that all parties involved are working on the latest drawings/instructions

- Control project quality, monitor budgets and timeline on multiple projects across region

- Manage all pre-opening purchases and ensure delivery of the completed project to the business on time

- Coordinate with internal clients (e.g. Commercial team, Category Management or Marketing) to ensure a smooth opening process

- Carry out final inspection, prepare a snag list along with project team and ensure all snags are attended to or rectified by the relevant contractors

- Involve in the compilation of “as built” document to be issued by consultants/project team

 

Reporting and administration responsibilities:

- Develop and update relevant retroplanning and tracking sheets and circulate when required

- Follow and maintain a record of all legal documents required for opening of new stores/ renovations

- Manage fixed assets lists and align with Finance department regarding budget

- Maintain business relationship with mall management and retail property landlords and all concerned authorities and parties and obtain all relevant permits and approvals

- Ensure all certification are in place for for insurance, health, safety and security purposes

Desired Skills and Experience

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

- More than 5 years’ experience in retail architecture/project management

- Bachlor degree in engineering and/or architecture (Master advantage)

- Project/Construction Management certification such as PMP

- MS project skills

- Fluency in English language

- Planning and organizing skills

- Decision making and problem solving skills

- Be able to travel throughout the region
