JOB PROFILE

As the Supervising Inspector you will ensure the integrity and compliance of facilities with applicable codes and company engineering specifications during fabrication/manufacturing (procurement), installation/constructions (projects) and in-service/shutdowns (operations).

JOB QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

A two-year Technical College degree in Mechanical studies or equivalent this can be waived by High School (industrial/science) degree with three years of experience and training in plant or project inspection.
Minimum sixteen years of oil industry experience
English Proficiency: Up to Level 7, TOFEL or equivalent.
AWS welding inspector; Level II Certification in the five (5) conventional NDT methods (VT, PT, MT, UT & RT); API or ASME Inspector certifications for vessels/Boilers, tanks &r piping; CSWIP Plant Inspector Level III and RTFI Level II.
Physically fit for equipment entry and climbing; with valid Driver License.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Plan and task assignment of all inspection activities for his area or respective discipline and ensure all types of inspection are performed in accordance with applicable codes and company regulations.
Perform critical (high risk) inspection of plant equipment for mechanical and corrosion defects, including welding, coating and non-metallic inspections.
Master use of inspection tools such as callipers, micrometres, boroscopes, and pit gauges; NDT conventional methods (VT, PT, MPT, UT & RT) and provide interpretation of results.
Identify usage requirements of advanced NDT methods: Internal Rotary Inspection System (IRIS), Eddy Current Testing, Magnetic Flux Leakage, Acoustic emission, TOFD, High Energy or Electronic Radiography, shear wave and automated UT and provide interpretations.
Oversee corrosion monitoring and inspection activities in his area or as required in the work process.
Review evaluation and interpretation of inspection findings, defects and repairs.
Generate and draft inspection worksheets and provide recommendations and reports.
Ensure accuracy and integrity of inspection records and log books and management systems.
Review of inspection related procedures and engineering documents and act as an expert in his discipline.
Provide guidance to inspectors to be fully qualified and certified.
Assist and provide discipline expertise in integrity, root cause, and RBI studies for existing facilities.
Participate in QA Assessments for vendors and projects.
Participate in failure and incident investigations; provide ideas to improve inspection and asset integrity assurance processes and collaborate with respective teams for implementation.
Plan and supervise all types of inspection and QC activities for process plants/projects or discipline.
Evaluate performance and competencies of inspectors.
Lead inspectors within his area to meet Asset Integrity targets.
