Marine Superintendent

The Marine Superintendent should be a Class 1 Marine Engineer having worked as Chief Engineer in coastal / foreign going vessels for a minimum of 8 years and must hold Certificate of Competency as Master having commanded coastal / foreign going vessels a minimum of 8 years.

The Marine Superintendent is responsible for the overall operation of the Company’s diverse vessels. The authority of the Marine
Superintendent encompasses the approval of resources and personnel necessary for smooth and efficient operation and monitoring the performance of the Company’s fleet.

The Marine Superintendent is responsible for the safe, economical and efficient running of the vessels under his control.

Duties and responsibilities of the Marine Superintendent include:

- Planning and execution of dry docking and shipyard repair work.
- Heads Emergency Response Team.
- Takes over the duties of Engineer Superintendent in his absence.
- Sanctioning all repairs on board.
- Technical and Maintenance supervision by:
- Supervise the activities of appointed technical managers and/or maintenance team
- Planned maintenance system by checking the appropriate register maintained on the vessels once a month.
- Assist vessels in solving technical problems for instance by arranging external supplies and services.
- Reviewing Defect / Damage / Incident reports.
- Responsible for recruitment of shipboard personnel, and justify the basis for the employment.
- Prepare plans for leave and relief of personnel.
- Acts as Company’s Safety Officer.
- Responsible for maintaining all statutory and class certificates up-to-date.
- In charge of supply of spares and stores

Qualification:
- Unlimited Master Mariner’s license in compliance with STCW II/2;Unlimited D.P. Certificate,
- Minimum 10 years of sea experience as Master of offshore support vessels
- Minimum 6 years shore experience as Port Captain or Marine Superintendent on Offshore Support Vessels.

- Relevant experience with AHTS, DP, STCW and all Certificates must be valid at all times.
