Project Director Large and Complex Buildings DCA

Managing a large/very large project with its proper Administration and Finance Department as well as the Technical Department, responsible for working documents (drawings), work’s preparation, sub-contracting, purchase orders and deliveries.
You will be accountable for Quality Assurance and Control, HSE assurance and Control, Execution, production on site, plant machinery fleet, contractual relations with Employer, relations with Authorities and Third parties.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, Large & Complex Buildings

• You will supervise, coordinate towards a successful completion your project in accordance with client requirements, organizational policies/procedures, contract, time and cost specifications
• You establish the organization chart to ensure proper functioning of his supports in the various sections
• You correct malfunctions where required, motivate staff
• You properly coordinate activities on the project between different trades and departments
• You validate contractual options, whether technical, financial or time related
• You validate legal matters, with agreement of BESIX legal department
• You validate fiscal matters together with Financial and Administration Manager of the project in agreement with the CFO of the BESIX Group
• You approve all engagements of the project
• You conclude supply and sub-contracts after preparatory work of his supports (inclusive pre contract quality and performance audits)
• You engage yourself in social contacts and public relations to the benefit of the Company
• You will coordinate all third parties, negotiate with contractors, suppliers and subcontractors throughout all stages in the development of the project life cycle, participate and handle tenders and contracts
• You will implement project budgets and resources, enforce project standards, technical reviews, manage team allocation, mobilize qualified personnel and specified tasks and prepare monthly progress reports

Your Profile

• You possess in-depth practical and theoretical knowledge to deal with situations in a background of conceptual understanding;
• You are an experienced people and team manager. You seek consensus and are a good listener;
• You have an advanced understanding of contract management;
• You have a deep knowledge of technical complex domains and have a very good knowledge of site organization;
• You have the ability to assess issues rapidly, develop alternative solutions, implement pragmatic strategies;
• You are an excellent communicator both to internal and external parties;
• You are able to negotiate at high level and in complex environments;
• You are professional, entrepreneurial and result-oriented;
• You have a high degree of flexibility and adaptability;
• You are commercially gifted;
• You are a civil engineer in construction
• You have a minimum of 10 to 15 years relevant experience
• You possess in-depth practical and theoretical knowledge to deal with situations in a background of conceptual understanding
• You have gained excellent experience in claim handling and contract management (FIDIC)
• You are fluent in English and any other European language, French/Dutch and asset
• You are internationally mobile
• You are willing to work on an EXPAT contract in the Middle East Region (UAE, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Qatar, Oman);
