Job description
The General Manager is responsible for profitability and growing the company revenue in Middle East Market & Africa region by achieving all sales and revenue goals by developing, building and strengthening long-term relationships with customer, suppliers and capitalizing on existing network infrastructure. The position will involve business development and deal making skills including strategic consulting and needs assessment, identifying and driving new business opportunities.

Role Accountabilities
- Full accountability for delivering the revenue, market share growth and achieving company financial goals. Develops strategic plan by studying technological and financial opportunities; presenting assumptions; recommending objectives.
- Increases management’s effectiveness by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, coaching, counseling, and disciplining managers; communicating values, strategies, and objectives; assigning accountabilities; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; developing incentives; developing a climate for offering information and opinions.
- Act as the primary strategic thinker to design and develop sales & solutions strategy while remaining hands-on in the rollout of operational initiatives.
- Develop business and sales plans, analyze regional performance, and initiate activities to maximize sales and revenue performance.
- Drive operating efficiencies, including allocating headcount between and within markets, controlling operating expenses, efficiently deploying working capital
- Monitor customer, market and competitor activity, provide feedback to management and recommend regional sales strategies for improvement.
- Recommend complex and innovative travel technology solutions to meet unique customer requirements. Deliver qualified consulting approach and lead sales efforts on key identified leads in the region;
- Negotiate price, contracts, terms and conditions for new expansions and renewals
- Builds company image by collaborating with customers, government, community organizations, and employees; enforcing ethical business practices.
- Manage and pro-actively implement the supplier negotiation process at the optimal time to ensure that required rates, allocations and release periods are agreed, competitive, finalised and comprehensively accessible in the system
- Develop innovative methods of attaining customers and contracts while maintaining potential customer lists and establishing & maintaining industry contacts that lead to sales. Maintain an accurate forecast of sales activity in the pipeline and regularly report key sales metrics to Executive Management
Qualifications, Education Requirements & Preferred Skills
- Master’s degree with a strong commercial experience within the travel technology/travel agency space
- Experience & expertise in developing sales, revenue enhancement, cost improvement strategies and managing multiple sales channels and strategic relationships
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement sales and account management budgets and plans
- Tech-savvy with an ability to communicate technical product features effectively and enthusiastically
- Extensive expertise and knowledge of the travel space and previous experience with travel technology products desired
- Demonstrated network of client relationships
