Job description
ROLE PURPOSE
The job holder is responsible for drafting and reviewing legal documents such as contracts and agreements to ensure they are all encompassing, accurate and in line with legal standards. The role involves providing support to the Line Manager and carrying out the stated activities under his/her guidance and supervision.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Checks and reviews status of laws and regulations to ensure legal contracts and agreements are in line with the existing laws and regulations. This includes providing ongoing feedback to Line Manager and team member to keep them updated with changes in the system
- Assists in the drafting and reviewing of documents to protect the interest of group and its stakeholders. This includes preparing Power of Attorney documents and obtaining notary authorization to ensure adequate legalization of documents
- Advises Business units and Shared services to clarify doubts and queries on legal issues.
- Attends regular meetings with Line Manager to provide updates on existing laws, endorse contracts and other legal documents and seek support on issues resolution
- Actively contributes to the achievement of the Group’s Emiratization targets by ensuring that targets under own areas of responsibility are achieved and to contribute to the training, development and retention of UAE Nationals
Desired Skills and Experience
Qualification
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Law from a recognized university
Experience
6 - 8 years experience in a similar role within a commercial environment gained through a progressive career path
Knowledge & Skills
- Sound understanding and application of UAE laws
- Good working knowledge of International Business Laws
- Reasonable exposure to commercial and corporate environment
- Native Arabic speaker with excellent written and verbal communication in English
- Strong Analytical thinking
- Ability to interpret law
- Articulate and tactful in written and verbal communication
- Ability to work independently and contribute to team project.
