JOB PROFILE
As the Analytical Chemist you will utilize specialized analytical chemistry with focused expertise on advanced analytical technologies to enhance process optimization, assist Operation in addressing customer complaints, and provide unavailable process troubleshooting capabilities to QC Laboratory. Assist Analytical Science & Technology Supervisor in developing specialized analytical capabilities through hands-on training and mentoring.
JOB QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor of Science Degree (BS), Master (MS), or (Ph.D.) in Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, or equivalent
Minimum eight years of oil industry experience
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Define and provide technical solutions through the use of advanced analytical instrumentation, chemistry, and product/process knowledge.
Provide expertise in operation and data interpretation of sophisticated analytical technologies such as Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR), Hyphenated -Mass Spectroscopy (GC-MS, LC-MS), Ion Chromatograph, Attenuated Fourier Transfer Infra-red (ATR), Cast Film Analyzers, X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF) and X-Ray Diffraction (XRD).
Develop and validate advanced analytical methods, and manage multi-disciplinary analytical projects.
Keep abreast with developments in areas related to analytical technology; identify, and implement new technology to be utilized by the company
Generate sound analytical data and interpretation for complex systems.
Follow the company approved procedures and practices related to operation, maintenance, and calibration of lab instruments.
Ensure that the laboratory delivers accurate and timely analytical results as per Service Level Agreement.
Handle multi areas in advanced analytical technology through cross training, and self- development.
Collaborate with Process/Engineering in identifying areas that require specialized analysis.
Perform as a super-user for all the Laboratory automation systems, including LIMS, Chromatography Data System (CDS), and SAP-Quality Operation Management.
Improve and leverage Analytical Discipline and Procedures; anticipate/address lab or product quality problems, and conduct root-cause analysis and remediation.
Monitor analytical performance through the utilization of statistical tools, or Six Sigma Methodology, interpret results, and take appropriate corrective action as needed.
Participate in seminars, conduct presentations, and issue technical reports; document, communicate and archive analytical results.
Train and coach mentees as well as technicians on analytical systems and technology
Apply and comply with ISO 9001 standard requirements and follow the laboratory and site safety procedures.
Comply with EH&S guidelines and safety processes.
