JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provides Drilling Engineering expertise into projects and studies together with technical support to Drilling Operations.
• Ensures high quality technical input at all times.
• Influence technology development by proactively providing feedback from lessons learnt during reviews and studies.
• Establish and maintain exemplary HSE standards by visibly supporting HSE programmes and procedures.
• Carries out detailed mechanical design of wells.
• Evaluates and recommends drilling, testing, completion, work over and rig equipment techniques and technology.
• Highlights and recommends techniques, procedures and equipment to improve the safety, efficiency and cost effectiveness of current or proposed operations and projects.
• Utilizes Landmark software to assist with well planning and implementation.
• Evaluates and advises accordingly to optimize and improve performance.
• Optimizes the use of the Drilling Information Management System.
• Assists in planning and optimization studies.
• Carries out field development studies with respect to optimum drilling techniques and concepts.
• Ensures the Drilling Quality Management System Manuals are maintained and updated.
• Ensures well planning and implementation comply with DQMS procedures.
JOB QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Bachelors Degree in Petroleum Engineering or related engineering discipline and relevant drilling industry courses.
• Minimum 10 years experience in Drilling related operations.
• Preferably 2-3 years well site experience and 5-6 years in operations engineering.
• Practical computer competency.
