JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Explores and evaluates the market for drilling, completion and work over equipment, techniques and technology.
• Attends relevant conferences and workshops as required.
• Recommends to the Assistant Manager Drilling Engineer the overall design of offshore and onshore wells.
• Ensures and maintain exemplary QHSE management standards throughout the section. Ensures well control incidents are effectively monitored and lessons learnt cascaded.
• Maintains Blowout Contingency Plans and coordinates annual emergency drills.
• Provides advice to offshore and onshore operations regarding techniques, procedures and equipment to increase efficiency and cost effectiveness, improve the safety and reduce the environmental impact of current or proposed projects.
• Monitors drilling and completion performance, conducting benchmarking and optimization studies.
• Carries out field development with respect to optimum drilling techniques and concepts. Custodian of the Drilling Quality Management System (DQMS) and Drilling Information Management System (DIMS).
• Introduces new computer applications and technology.
• Ensures the Landmark Drilling Engineering software is effectively utilized. Maintains Event and Achievement Reporting Systems.
• Attends annual HSE inspections for drilling operations including site inspections and contractor workshop facilities.
JOB QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Bachelors Degree in Petroleum Engineering or related engineering discipline plus relevant drilling industry courses.
• Minimum 12 years experience in Drilling related operations.
• Preferably 2-3 years well site experience and 7-8 years in operations engineering.
• Experience in drilling engineering research and studies are preferred.
• Excellent computer literacy is required.
