GEMS FirstPoint School is a new mid-market plus school which opened in September 2014.

Located in The Villa development the school is a “state of the art” centre of inspirational learning offering the English curriculum for children from Early Years Foundation Stage (FS) to Year 8 in its first year. We will build to a full “all through” school from FS to Year 13 of 3,500 students in subsequent years. Students will follow Cambridge International Examinations syllabus for IGCSE and A Level programmes of study. The language of instruction is English.

Our curriculum offers a full, broad and balanced range of learning opportunities both in and out of the classroom, with an emphasis on Enterprise and Technology. There are ties to local culture and tradition and, together with the rest of the school, all Foundation Students will study Arabic and UAE Social Studies. The school is a pioneering school for GEMS “Skills in School” initiative with excellent faciliites including ICT Laboratories with Discovery Spaces, I-pads, Interactive Whiteboards and LCD Screens in each classroom, Senior and Primary Libraries, Food Technology Catering Suite, Design Technology and Engineering Workshops, Art and Design Studios, Recording Studio, 500 Seat Auditorium, 25m Swimming Pool, 6 Court Sports Hall, Outdoor Play Areas and Social Spaces.

Successful applicants will be fully qualified teachers with exceptional subject knowledge and have a proven track record of teaching outstanding lessons. Applicants will have experience of leading a high performing SEN department, or currently hold a position of assistant Head of Department with ambitions to progress in their career.
