You will recall that last year Oscar-winning singer AR Rahman and Punjabi rap artist Yo Yo Honey Singh were nominated by MTV India to represent the country in the Best Worldwide Act Category at the MTV Europe Music Awards (EMA), which felicitated best songs and artists of the year.
Rahman was nominated for ‘Nenjukkule’ from Mani Ratnam’s Tamil movie ‘Kadal’, while Honey Singh was selected for his song ‘Bring me back’. Although both of them did not win the award, they went to make great music in their home country.

Recently, A little over two decades ago, a young Indian musician named A. R. Rahman was faced with a choice: He could head to Boston to attend Berklee College Of Music or he could stay in his home country to score “Roja,” his first film. He picked the latter, beginning a career that, according to the Internet Movie Database, is 143 movies strong at the time this is being written (and possibly more by the time you read it).
So when the composer of films such as “Slumdog Millionaire,” “127 Hours,” and “Lagaan” accepted his honorary Berklee doctorate Friday in the midst of a sold-out concert in his honor at Symphony Hall, he noted that he felt he was coming full circle.

Recently, Rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh has reportedly decided to go into hibernation until December. Singh, who is hugely popular in Bollywood for his songs, is in depression.
Reports suggest that the singer had an argument with a very popular actor. The verbal spat turned so ugly that the star reportedly slapped Honey. The unpleasant episode has apparently hurt Honey and which is why he has decided to keep away from the industry for some time.
Reports also suggest that the singer has cancelled his shows until December. However, his official Facebook post suggests that Singh is unwell and hence he has taken a break.
