Till date she has made several successful collaborations with Malaika Arora Khan. However with Happy New Year in the pipeline, the choreographer put her foot down.

Farah Khan refused to choreograph for her brother Sajid Khan in Humshakals. And while that was not all, Farah also turned down the offer to choreograph Malaika Arora Khan inDolly Ki Doli. There were rumours that Happy New Year was initially supposed to be made right after the success of Main Hoon Na. Farah Khan and Shah Rukh Khan had decided on working on the script. However following a fight between SRK and Farah’s husband, Shirish Kunder, there was reportedly a fallout between the two.

At that time a completely different cast was expected to be a part of it. According to a PTI report, Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt, Zayed Khan and Juhi Chawla were supposed to be in the film. However now looking at the cast, Farah Khan has gone for a complete revamp.

Farah Khan has managed to bring together a huge star cast of varied actors like, Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Boman Irani, Vivaan Shah and Sonu Sood. I told SRK about it and SRK is always gracious, because he has his own home production too. He told me, “John you should concentrate on your home production.”I am very fond of him and it was very amicable.”

arah Khan may come across as a very interesting filmmaker, but Abhishek Bachchan decided to spill the beans about the choreographer turned director, saying that she is a big disciplinarian on the sets of the film. According to a report in The Times of India, Abhishek Bachchan had said, “If you are working with Farah, you don’t get any time at all. Between the cut and the next shot, she is ready. I think having triplets helped her prepare for Happy New Year.

We were like her kids and she knew exactly how to manage all the ‘children’ on the set. She was like a strict mother.” She is a responsible mother, not just on the sets but at home also. The director had to once skip work to be with her kids who were ill.
