We have a vacancy for a Senior Flavorist in our Creation & Application Center in Dubai, catering for flavor creation needs of the Middle East region.CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Formulate new flavour creations for customer briefs or new technology developments
- Lead internal development and creation project teams for big customer projects
- Evaluate new raw materials and technology for flavor creation purposes
- Initiate and lead pro-active projects
- Act as internal and external champion for new technologies and developments
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with big customers, serve as their technical expert and work with them in partnership
- Coach, train and mentor Flavourists and Flavourist assistants
PRIMARY QUALFICATIONS
- Polytechnic or Bachelors’ Degree in Food Science, Chemistry or Biology
- At least 10 years working experience as a Beverages/Sweets Flavourist in an international environment
- English essential; Arabic advantageous
- PC literate
- Willing to travel across the Middle East with business travel to Egypt, India and Europe
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
- Demonstrate expert level tasting skills
- Expert ability to create and adjust flavour formulations
- Masterly level knowledge of raw materials, flavour ingredients, solvents and carrier systems
- Mastery level of newest technologies used for improved flavour performance
- Ability to prepare and present complex flavour creation related technical presentations both internally and to customers
- Good knowledge of market categories and products, customers and competitor portfolios
- Good Knowledge of modern analytical techniques and the interpretation of results
- Good understanding of legislation on flavouring and food
