Job description
New York University Abu Dhabi is seeking to appoint an Assistant Director, Grant Management for the Research Institute. This position is responsible for the post-award financial administration of projects and for project-level financial administration of research grants awarded. The suitable candidate will ensure expenditures of the grants are properly tracked, monitored and reported to the Principal Investigators (PI’s) and NYUAD leadership, and will serve as a point of contact for PI’s and Research Staff.Key Responsibilities
- Ensure expenditure of a large grants portfolio is appropriately expended, monitored and reported
- Ensure that the financial aspect is in compliance with with funding agencies and the sponsors of the NYUAD Research Institute fund
- Assist the PI’s with writing new grant proposals, participate in developing grant budgets for new projects and provide advice to Project Directors regarding cost estimations and projections
- Serve as liaison to central offices such as NYUAD Finance and Budget offices, Pre-Award offices at NYUAD and NYU and NYU Sponsored Program Administration
Education Requirements
Essential
- Bachelor degree in Finance, Accounting or a related discipline
- Continuing professional education in accounting, finance or research administration an advantage
Experience Requirements
Essential
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in project-level financial administration of sponsored grant
- Experience in generating reports of portfolios of multiple grants for senior management
- Experience with budget development
- Experience with US Federal funding agencies preferred
- Demonstrated experience developing and monitoring large complex budgets
- Ability to interpret government contract language, quickly learn and understand University policies and procedures, and disseminate information to faculty and staff regarding pre and post award management
