One of the must-see historical sites in Dubai, the Sheikh Saeed Al-Maktoum House, is a former residence of the Ruler of Dubai from 1921 to 1958. It has now been turned into a museum. The original building was completed in 1896, but later demolished to make space for the house that stands there today. Inside, there are exhibits that show old photographs of Dubai from 1948 to 1953. The photos will give you a rare glimpse into what Dubai looked like before the oil boom.
The house is a masterpiece of architecture and is made in true Gulf style. You will be struck by its vaulted high-beam ceilings, sculpted window overhangs, and arched doorways as you make your way through the house.
