Fondly known as the Dubai Clocktower, the Deira Clocktower is a historical monument on the intersection of Umm Hurair Road and D89. Stop by this photo-worthy attraction that represents the rapid commercial development of Dubai.
The tower is a key landmark signifying the first land-crossing between Deira and Bur Dubai, across the Al Maktoum bridge. It was also the first connecting point for major routes leading to Dubai, before the Dubai-Abu Dhabi Road was constructed. Built in 1963, the clocktower remains an iconic symbol signifying access to the bridge, as well as being a distinguishable clock in the city. It was renovated in 1972 but remains the same, revamped with sturdier materials.
