Emaar, Vogue Plan Second Dubai Fashion Event

Emaar launched its second Vogue Fashion Dubai Experience. This Dubai based fashion event was launched last year in collaboration with Dubai based Real estate development company Emaar properties. The show is sponsored by Vogue italia to celebrate fashion and to put Dubai on the map as the next fashion hub in the world.

This is the second time the Emaar group and Vogue are teaming up after the event was launched last year to host a great fashion event and staking claim for Dubai to become the next major fashion location in the world.

The show is promised to be an extravagant affair that will bring in international designers, top models and celebrities to showcase their talents. The entire show is a three day event and will be a ” Ultimate celebration of fashion and ultimate showcase for upcoming designers ” as described by Franca Sozzani, editor of Vogue Italia.

The event will be held between October 31 to November 1 in the Dubai Mall. Emaar said in a statement that there will be more than 300 participating outlet with in-store promotion, lifestyle entertainment and music to keep all entertained and informed. The show will showcase the work of eight established designers especially selected by Vogue Italia. The show will also showcase new emerging talents also selected by Vogue Italia and Symphony.com. They are selected from around the world and will showcase their talents to the best of their ability.

Some of the famous designer who will be present in the event include Alberta Feretti and Roberto Cavalli. The show will also include recording artist Ciara and top models like Liya Kebede and Karolina Kurkova.Saudi Arabia’s Reem Al Kanhal and UAE’s Shamsa Alabbar represented the Middle East. Also from Italy are Haitian-Italian designer Stella Jean and Who is On Next?winner Salvatore Piccione. Also attending is former Mr. Lebanon Wissam R Hanna

The editor in chief of vogue expects the same number of attendees, funds and talents to emerge in this years’ talent event as well. He wants younger generation to join in the latest fashion extravaganza. He expects the retailers too grow by the end of the year making Dubai the next fashion capital like Milan, Paris and New York. Mr. Booth, Dubai Fashion council member wishes to invest on the multi-million fashion industry and expects the crowd to go above 100 million visitors.

The entire will be focused on the emerging new talent and their creativity. The show will focus on younger clientele and encourage more designers to showcase their talents on an international scale and be recognized on a global scale. Also young fashion designers will be motivated and establish Dubai. Dubai and the Dubai focuses on being the global fashion hub by 2020. It will become the next global destination and a must visit retail outlets internationally.

Dubai currently hosts a Dubai fashion week and two fashion forwards bi-annually. The emirates is also developing dubbed d3, a mega Dubai Design District which will include hotels, offices, workshop areas and residential developments. The first phase of the project is scheduled to begin in the early 2015.
