Job description
New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) seeks to appoint an accomplished Audio Visual Senior Engineer to join the NYUAD Technology Group (NYUAD-TG). The Group is NYUAD’s central organization for technology-based services supporting faculty, students, staff, and administrators. NYUAD-TG provides computer, network, telephony and Internet services to the entire NYUAD community.
The Audio Visual Senior Engineer role has a direct impact on the A/V services delivered to the business in support of staff, faculty and researchers for all of NYUAD, and will be responsible for ensuring that the NYUAD A/V systems are performing efficiently and effectively as possible.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the operation of the Audio Visual software, hardware and configuration throughout the NYUAD campus, including overall performance and capacity of the NYUAD A/V systems
- Deploy the release of new technologies as well as; designs, installs, configures, maintains and performs system integration testing of A/V operating systems, related utilities and hardware
- Troubleshoot complex problems as reported by users
- Research, evaluate and recommend software and hardware products working closely with NYU colleagues and architects
- Oversee all new installs, upgrades, patching and changes to the A/V infrastructure and systems
- Develop standard operating procedures for maintenance, housekeeping and changes to the A/V systems and infrastructure
- Develop and report on metrics for the performance of the A/V systems
Education Requirements
Essential
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Science or relevant industry experience
Desirable
- ITIL Foundation
Experience Requirements
Essential
- 3 to 5 years of IT work experience
- High level of expertise in multiple system environments
- Must be comfortable working in a high stress, fast paced environment shifting priorities.
- Excellent English communications skills (verbal and written)
- Self-starter who can find and resolve issues pertaining A/V systems and infrastructure
- Knowledge of A/V Systems and Infrastructure
- Ability to write technical documentation and create management reports and metrics
- Demonstrate the ability to be a team player
Desirable
- Demonstrate good customer facing skills with abilities to achievement success and must have a solid understanding of a “services business” in a high-tech environment
- Broad knowledge of computer, network and A/V systems
- ITIL Service Management knowledge and experience
