Description
Looking for a Medical Coding Supervisor to manage a team of Medical Coders. The role is to be based in Dubai.
Responsibilities:
•Leading & supervising a team of Medical Coders, managing their quality & performance standards as per defined standards & procedures and as per coding guidelines
•Responsible for assigning, directing, monitoring and evaluating work of subordinate staff on a regular basis.
•Performs the most difficult coding and abstracting duties in the department
•Be a mentor to guide, train and develop staff within the coding team
Education, skills and experience:
•A Medical Science degree in any discipline
•Advanced Certifications in Medical Coding through American Health Information Management Association (Certifications: Certified Professional Coder, AHIMA or AAPC Verifiable Credentials)
•Advanced principle and practices of medical record keeping; advanced medical terminology anatomy, and physiology, as well as the states, sequences, progression and description of diseases as they apply to medical coding and abstracting
•Appropriate methods for auditing and reviewing information for quality control purpose.
•Understanding of the business and professional relationships and ethics involved among hospitals, physicians and patients
•2-3 in a supervisory role and not less than 5 years overall experience in the Health care related industry (Provider/Payers) in the Medical coding field
•Thorough knowledge of Medical /Health Insurance
