Operational Effectiveness Manager

Job description

This role is a senior position within the Operations Department of the University and as such reports directly to the Director of Operations.

The Operations Department is one of several departments reporting into the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration.

  • Managing and directing staff working in the Operational Effectiveness Office (OE)
  • Instrumental in leading and controlling functional performance, measuring, improving and automating processes across Operations.
  • Accountable for the management and implementation of change initiatives and process improvement projects to improve overall operational performance in line with university’s strategic goals.
  • Performs quantitative and qualitative analysis and develops solutions to improve functional performance and optimization of resources.
  • Identifies and implements best practices in process improvement and automation.
  • Experience in the development of departmental goals and KPIs in addition to KPI tracking and dashboard monitoring.
  • Experience in leading cross functional teams and coaching team members in process improvement methodologies and tools as well as developing the team’s analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written, ability to develop and deliver presentations and reporting to Senior Management and expert facilitation skills.
  • Thorough experience in stakeholder management on complex projects to ensure successful delivery of projects or programmes.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • A Masters degree in Business Management, Finance, Operations or related fields.
  • A minimum of ten years management experience in leading change management and the continuous improvement of business processes.
  • Lean Six Sigma Blackbelt certification is a must.
  • PMP certification.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
